General Sufferers' Jobs & Careers?

Thank you Sunshine - it's still all a bit tricky. I did find a job advertised in the paper that he would have been great at but he wasn't interested. Well - he was until he saw the mountain of paperwork involved in the application. Even though I said I would type out all his info it put him off straight away, which was sad.

We're waiting for the accountant to ring with his books for last year... I personally think that he will suggest giving up on a bad lot. It's not a bad business, just bad times; which is true for everyone - but not everyone has this to deal with too :(

My ex had a similar issue. He had landed a nice job at a local Army Depot not long after he was done with his active duty in the Marines. He ended up quitting this job ( a 60k+ a year job...yea i know nuts). He said he didn't like working there and not to mention he had personal reasons with his ex wife and a girlfriend he had that he met while he was working there. He broke up with this chick and was trying to work things out with his wife and I guess things just added up to where he thought there was no other solution but to quit this job.

Then he started working on motorcycles trying to get certified so he could branch out and do his own thing. Motorcycles are his passion. He is so passionate about them that he was working for free just to get his foot in the door. His financial problems got worse and he eventually had to quit this job. It was costing him so much in gas to drive there and back all week and plus him and his boss had several disagreements about how to get this business up and going. He got ripped off basically. He was working for free for a boss that had no intentions of getting this business up and going.

So he quit that job and now he doesn't have a job period. He does draw a pension for 80% disability where he has lost a lot of his hearing while he was active in the Marines. So that is all he has to live on. The stress of all of this has really gotten him down.

I say if your husband truly loves what he is doing and it helps him escape its all fine and dandy. But if it causes more stress than it does joy it might not be worth it. I really wish my ex could have found a way to stay in the motorcycle business and get paid for working. He may yet and I really hope he does cause it seems to be a really good stress relief for him to be able to build custom bikes. Lord knows that is all he thinks and talks about lol.
