I'm glad you worked through it Monster. I'm kind of ... at loss what to do right now. I'm just overwhlemed with everything all at once... I really need to just sit back and think on some things for a bit.

Hashi, thanks for your support. Like they say, nothing ventured nothing gained. I gained a valuable lesson through this.

I'm thinking a better pace may be therapy 2x a month rather than 4x. I'll have to discuss this with my T and see how this goes.
 
For nearly a year I had therapy 4X per month. When I switched to my new therapist after about a month we cut it back to twice a month. At first it concerned me, but it was actually the best thing I could have done. It was often enough to keep me from slipping too far, but it was spread out enough that I had to start learning to rely on myself at least somewhat to cope.

When therapy was weekly I was using it as a crutch. I would just hold on to everything until my appointment. Now I do more to try to cope on my own. I think having more time between appointment made the difference. Now, anymore more than 2 weeks, I struggle with that.
 
Taking a break was detrimental.
I am sorry to hear that Phoenix.

I have to say that for me even a week makes it difficult for me to open up so for me twice a month would only work if I somehow managed to develop a lot of trust with a therapist. I have more of a problem letting myself have a proper connection that being overly dependent.

The family session sounds very scary but I think it will be a wonderful step for you. Maybe for all of you actually. Painful and difficult - yes. But also healthy for all.
