hi
i found this forum a few days ago. i have been looking for something like this for a while now, but couldn't find any in my country.
Short version of my story:
about 4 yrs ago i sustained a tbi from a fight (work related). about 5 months ago they told me i have been walking around with ptsd for 4 yrs.
because of my tbi i lost my job. still ''working'' for the same employer but not the same job. last year everything went wrong and i had to call in sick. been home for about 10 months (because nobody would help me back to work) when i found my own way back to (kind of) functioning. but the docs said there was something wrong with me, called me agressive and send me in for more tests... thats when they ruined everything ive worked for... i had to go in therapy for ptsd, but after about 6 sessions my therapist said he couldn't help me. so they f*cked me up and now i have to fix myself again... now i am more damaged then ever, i don't know what to do anymore... hope i can find some answers here.

i dont know what i want anymore... just want it all to be over. i want to get better, but i don't trust them anymore. they are just making it worse. first i thought i was better off on my own... i can deal with it... but now they made it worse and i can see only 1 way out.... and that is not a way i want to go.

Welcome to the forums!

Did the therapist provide suggestions or referrals?

Welcome!

I understand how frustrating a TBI is, as well as PTSD (obviously). I got a TBI after multiple head injuries, although I had the opposite thing happen to me -- they "added up" to TBI after I was already suffering from PTSD. If that makes sense.

Anyway, first thing I want to tell you (besides "welcome") is that it's easy to think of yourself as damaged, especially when a therapist rejects your case, but you aren't. You're recovering, yes, but you aren't damaged goods.

Secondly, yes, absolutely find a new therapist. One who's qualified to treat you. My first therapist was similar -- ended our sessions because he could treat depression, OCD, anxiety, and all that, but felt uncomfortable treating PTSD. Don't give up. Sometimes it takes a little more.

tnx
not really. he send me back to where i got my diagnosis.. they will test me again in a few weeks probably...

thank you.
this therapist is well known with ptsd. alot of experience. he says i don't show any emotions... he thinks its because of my tbi.
i have depressive thoughts but they say i don't have depression and its caused by tbi and ptsd. so they don't help me with it?

If you can, look for a trauma therapist. It does get a lot worse before it gets better, but it gets...
this was a trauma therapist. a lot of experience with ptsd. i feel i didnt get enough time... my tbi caused slow information processing and slow thinking... maybe that is part of the problem... i don't know...
