This is an old TED Radio Hour program from National Public Radio about growing up .

The third and fourth clips are particularly insightful for those of us who may have suffered childhood trauma.

I may continue posting different programs to this thread if I find more that I think will be appreciated, so Social seemed appropriate. :)

My colleague who has PTSD and has been in recovery a long time likes this TED talk for people trying to accomplish a goal when dealing with challenges. It is Titled "The Game That Can Give You 10 Extra Years of Life" by Jane McGonigal. Link: https://www.ted.com/talks/jane_mcgo...n_give_you_10_extra_years_of_life?language=en

Though this talk is given by a Traumatic Brain Injury survivor, the concepts in Jane McGonigal's "SuperBetter" game are probably helpful for recovery when it comes to quality of life with other conditions.

The best part is, anyone can set this kind of practice up on some level without specialist or expensive resources.

Most importantly, Jane is an inspiration; like many TED talks, she talks with feeling about what kind of work it is to survive a major mind-body challenge and not give up when you feel like doing so every day.

I have not personally played the game mentioned, but I have used these practices with good results, things that work like "power ups" in a game in real life.
