So my symptoms have peaked and T suggested a medication consult. Has anyone done telemeds?

Has anyone done telemeds?

Not I. I'm curious, is there a specific company (tele-provider) you'd be going through? How has the process been described to you?

I haven't yet. It my insurance company has partnered with a telemedicine company that provides 24/7 access to doctors that can write scripts, has both psychology and psychiatry practicianers and costs less than my regular copay and I can pick the appointment time not just accept what they tell me is available.

My insurance provides this option, which I used when I had the flu a few weeks ago and felt to crappy to drive to the dr. I got to pick my appointment time and the dr. I didn't look to see if they had mental health professionals as an option. If you don't have someone to prescribe meds to you it couldn't hurt to try it in a pinch. I imagine they would ask all the same qualifying questions they would in person. However, in person they get to see your physical responses to questions. Your mannerisms. Does your face and body language match what you're saying. These are things that we don't think about but can be very telling to psychiatrists/therapists etc. they look at how we're dressed, hair etc.
