Terminal Illness And Acceptance

I was just approved for an in home health care program. My sister qualifies too and will soon be added to the list and this takes an enormous weight off of the both of us. I have a new doctor, and I am now officially back in therapy / med. mgmt. too.:tup::playful::joyful::singing:

End of life matters will also be handled by the program; living will, advance directives etc. and this also takes away a good deal of the stress and worry for me.

I bought 2 vape pens for me and my sister from NJOY, cost me about $38 for $60 worth of pens because I got first time buyers discount and friend discounts.

They came in the mail today and I am officially using my vape pen to replace cigarettes.:playful::joyful: They are well made vape pens and work really well.

My choice is the banana flavor e-liquid because it reminds me of Camel light cigarettes which was my previous choice.

I am still getting about 16-21mg of nicotine, but no tar or any of the other gazillion toxins... and I can step myself down off of the nicotine till I am free of it too.:D:) Yay me!

So there is another step I am taking to improve my health and I'm supporting my sister in improving hers at the same time.

I am grateful for the support I have received with this matter of COPD/emphysema and chronic, (possibly eventually terminal), illness.:inlove:

My sister and I are going to fight this lung disease with all we have at our disposal and I can't thank you all enough for helping me get to this point.

@lostforgottensoul @The Albatross @brat17 @She Cat @cat-lady @BlueOrange and anyone I have forgotten, thank you so very much for your support and encouragement....

I'm truly grateful!!!

Just an idea:

Turkish Blend E-Liquid

They state the "Turkish Blend" is out of stock but they have a ton on here that taste like brand names. One called "Desert Ship". Look around on there. Pretty inexpensive and I've heard from co-workers that their stuff is awesome.

LOTS of tobacco flavors. Walgreens carries one, I believe it's made by Mystic, called American Blend (I think). It is a nice smoothe taste. Many people like fruit flavors, I don't.

Also learn about PG vs VG. You can google it, youtube it....lots of people talk about it as it really makes a difference depending on your preferences. I learned by buying small amounts of each juice and trying them all out to see what I prefer.

Sorry, don't mean to go off topic. If this is too far off topic, I will shut up.

And you are doing amazing by the way. Switching to any vapor is a wonderful start to slowing down the COPD!

Awww Thank you So much!!! Not far off topic at all.

I have accepted that COPD can be terminal...eventually, ....however I do not accept defeat.

I will give the Turkish blends and others that you mentioned a try. I have only vaped a few different e-liquids "juice" and I am excited to explore.

Thank you again for your continued support....you helped to make a difference in my life and I want to thank you for that.

I have to go to the store so I am rushing right now but again, thank you @lostforgottensoul

Will write more when I return home.

peace,

I wonder when starting to use an Vape Pen if it is normal to have a cough or if my juice is too strong. Seems every time I vape, I cough. Making it a little difficult to get used to. Still, I like the way I feel after an hour or so of usage and I can tell a difference in my ability to breathe almost immediately.

So anyways thanks to everyone once again for the support, You guys are awesome!!!

*Cough Cough ahem

Because of my COPD I can't really smoke weed anymore, I need another way to ingest it, such as a vaporizer. :D

and since you bring up the subject......I am an advocate in my state for medicinal cannabis for the chronically and terminally ill.

I think it would be nice if people would educate and inform themselves about the benefits of marijuana.

It is decriminalized for small amounts here:cool:, but it is still illegal to possess, or grow.:(

(Here I believe the penalties for possession of less than 8 oz. is a misdemeanor, with up to 45 day incarceration, and a $250 fine but, possession of more than 8 oz. / second offenses are a felony.

I am trying to get the laws changed for those that are ill.(myself included of course).:p

I have used it for 42 years and for the last 20 years, for PTSD/anxiety, depression, insomnia, nausea, pain, inflammation, etc. and I understand it is useful for COPD too (just not smoked).

(I think it has numerous benefits and I believe more will be discovered as research continues).

Anyways.... I got a little side-tracked.

so, bottom line; I am an advocate for the reform of marijuana laws for the chronically and terminally ill patient, on both state and federal levels.

Okay. so back to vape pens and fighting disease......Thank you for your reply, I am more likely to stay on the vape pen knowing the cough will go away or diminish. I wanted to be sure I wasn't worsening the COPD.

I will update my progress.
:happy::happy::happy:

I am an advocate in my state for medicinal cannabis for the chronically and terminally ill.

It just passed this election here in Florida.

Though I have no idea how to obtain a medical marijuana card or be prescribed it or however they are doing it.

The local news came out about it already being done (sold medically) before the election lol.

ETA: My bad, back to COPD, terminal illness, and vaporizers.

I converse too easily on here. :speechless:

You are fine my friend, I think marijuana has a place in healing and easing terminal illness and that is what the thread is about. Accepting that we are ill and doing something about it.

Happy to know FLA has joined the green movement.:)
