Thanksgiving plans for one

Yes, for me it will be a holiday for one also. I get a turkey breast for free from the Salvation Army. They also give me all the fixin's. However, I have a tentative invitation with some friends that live around the corner from here, if they are up to it. She is being treated for cancer, so it is a touch and go situation. I would love to spend the holiday with them, though.

I want to make some pumpkin pudding too.

I have a mind to not celebrating Thanksgiving this year and just treat it like just another regular day and I will cook a chicken in the crockpot with some potatos. I may get a pie or some kind of treat but I think I will not be doing anything else.

This month went by so fast so if I am lucky, next month will go by fast too. Then I will not have to worry about the holidays anymore.

When I was in my 20s my mom declared she was no longer cooking for the holidays. This opened it up for me to cook for friends and finally holidays became fun.

When there's no one around, going out to a movie works, or there's always volunteering.

One time my spouse and I volunteered at a nursing home to dine with people with no family. We both were placed in the Alzheimers unit. What a challenging and enlightening day that turned into.
