Being a teen in the 90's ... hmm, well I'm sure there were some things unique to us (but I'm afraid to admit most of them.) I may have liked Vanilla Ice -- but only for a few minutes I swear. I was on heavy seditives at the time, so I wasn't thinking clearly.
We were the 1st generation to learn how to use a computer at school. The first to have mass availability video games at home rather than having to go to an arcade. I wonder if the quarter distribution dropped because of this?
We had car phones, pagers (1st to get them on the banned list at school), air bags became more standard in our cars, environmental issues became more mainstream and taught to us in school and by the media.
Let us not forget Punky Brewster (as a kid of the 80's). May her mismatched sneakers make it to the Smithsonian one day.
Edit Addition: I wouldn't call my past the "good ol' days" though. As bad as I feel most days, I still would rather keep living in today and moving forward -- as far away from the past as I can manage. Although, some days I feel like I have a bungee cord tied around my waist and I get jerked backward from time to time.
