When I left my therapy session today I was asked to think about three goals for therapy. At first I thought about it and said this is going to be hard to come up with three. Before long though I had more than three goals in my mind. I've written down three of them.
  1. Lose weight
  2. Find ways to deal with my worst trigger: death.
  3. Sexuality
Now sitting here in my office I've thought of more:
  1. Get back to writing
  2. Social/Community/Church
  3. Hobbies
I think I like my first list though.

My newest therapist has a checklist option, which I like quite a bit. I think it's probably good for me to come up with goals, but this time I was singularly focused on wanting to finally finish a timeline with a therapist. If she had tried to get me to do this, it would have been:

1. Timeline
2. TIMELINE
3. To be done with this because it is taking time away from the timeline.

Apparently, my insurance does not think this is an acceptable answer.

My T liked my goals list. I printed off a copy for her and she loved that as well.

We talked about weight loss today for a bit. I've lost weight before with ease, 100 pounds and 98 inches in a year, through cycling and strength training until I got two complications of under-treated hypothyroidism. I've never gotten back to that same routine since then. T asked what I weighed in high school.
