MVA Transportation Accident- Train

I guess while similar to a car accident in that it is isolated event, I was in a train accident. I am new to the forum so I am not sure if anybody else had posted something similar to this but hey thought I would give it a shot. My accident was a derailment, lots injured and three dead. I have had a hard time coping with the flashbacks and just the images I have repressed for years. This accident has put my life on hold and I am wondering if anybody else can relate about the damaging effects of a random accident. I am always waiting for the other shoe to drop.

You're most definitely not alone. While I haven't experienced anything of the same magnitude, I did witness a couple dead people in the road. The second one was really dramatic, a car burning and.. it really stressed me out at the time. Now, though, I'd say I'm not scarred from that - really. My trauma stemmed from other sources...but, PTSD is like our brains are decided to live in the past and obsessively predict the future based on past events. At least that's how I think about it. It's really hard to cope sometimes. I definitely have felt robbed of normality it many places, because I can't do many things "easily" like others can, and it's really frustrating for me. But I've tried to accept that it's just where I am in life, and I hope you can too! :hug:
