Trauma Therapy: Seeking Some Support

Today was day 1 of "real" trauma therapy. After a year of dialectical behavioral therapy, learning coping skills to keep me from going off the deep end and staying there or worse, I'm finally deemed as stable enough by my treatment team to do trauma therapy. The six weeks its taken to do the pre-trauma therapy stuff, get a coping process in place, friends/family/professional supports, has been torture in and of itself.
After doing a guided imagery meditation, that was more like hypnosis, I felt drugged for at least 3 hrs, not sure I'm not still drugged.

What resources or normalizing activities do you all find help you keep doing your day, after you've had a session???

Thanks,

Sleep & salt baths & talking nonsense eye to eye with people. It's a hard process with few shortcuts but so worth it. Sleep is my saving grace. I never have much vacation time because I use it on the days after intense trauma work.

Way to go stepping into this part of the journey. Takes a lot of courage.
