I was totally disgusted with Bill Clinton, too, but at least his dalianeces were consensual.

I'm sorry this is raising so many issues for you. Do you have a therapist? It really sounds like you could really use one.

But I also find Bill Clinton equally disturbing.
My own thought on that is that I don't have the evidence to decide what Bill Clinton is like, for sure, today. Obviously, his past behavior that's clearly been shown leaves a LOT to be desired. If, in private, he's the scum bag Trump is, then I'd say he's a bit scarier that Trump, because he has the capacity to come off as a nice guy, when he wants to.

Bill definitely comes off as a nice guy, but with some kind of sex addiction, I've read. I never saw any evidence that he ever assaulted anyone, though. From what I've read, all his "conquests" have been consensual.

@hodge yes, I do...not sure where this falls into the conversation in therapy right now, however I am sure at some point in time I need to address that my husband finds sexually harassing banter acceptable because "everyone does it."
@scout86 I guess you could be correct in not judging him today, however he was old enough in his career to know better than to lie under oath about his sexual relationships which ended with the loss of his law license. Based on testamony of several women, some who may have been opportunists, they claim he groped them and made crude and sexually triggering comments. I guess the only difference in trump and BC is time..people have forgotten in some stretch how awful BC was... He isn't running for president so it doesn't matter except they are married. I had a friend who worked for her and said she is repulsive and the meanest white woman ever unless she gets her way. Who knows... My friend is a die hard democrat and won't vote for her. Tells you something. She as well claims she had a significant, long affair with a staffer of the same sex which in relative terms equates to the same affair as her husband. They just strike me as opportunists who are only married to keep the power...her agenda is all about her not what is good for the American people. Same with Trump/chump. It's about ego and narcissism. If he is elected I will puke...

Oh, wow, I didn't know that about Hillary. From various old news reports I am not surprised if she had a same-sex affair, but I'll still vote for her. She will not start a nuclear war. Trump well might for the slightest infraction. Yeah, that's the measure I'm down to now. Anything to keep that creature away from the nuclear codes. He doesn't even understand the concept of nuclear deterence. He has said, why do we have nuclear weapons and not use them? Arrrggghhh -- ignorant asshole!!!

That's kind of been my suspicion as well. With BC, I don't know if he has the capacity to learn from his mistakes, or perceive them as mistakes, that's where I'd withhold judgement. If it's possible to have a sex addition, I suspected that was his deal, but again, I don't know anything other than the publicly available information.

Your friend's take on Hillary is interesting. Personally, I've always thought that both of them....... I'm not quite sure how to explain this. I've always thought they were lacking in principles. I don't think they stand for much, inside, where it really matters. I think most of the stands they take are just what you said, opportunistic. But, I figure I'm not electing them to be friends, or trusted co-conspirators. I'm voting for someone to run the country. My first choice would be someone who had a sense of honor and integrity, was willing to take an unpopular stand, when that was called for, was thoughtful, smart, and had the best interest of the whole country at heart. Then, if I could find a person like that I actually AGREED with on the issues, it would be perfect. Hasn't happened lately. :( At least not in a national election. The Clintons, while they may have the spines of an earthworm, I think they at least care what people think, because that's how they get the status they crave. You just have to watch out for whose approval they're looking for. Doesn't matter if they agree with you now, because they'll agree with whoever is the best fit at any given moment. I'm a pragmatist. I think they can at least do the job. Not inviting them to any holiday dinners, but they can probably do the job. Trump is a bit different. He's also in it for himself, but he keeps score differently. He reminds me a bit of my brother in that, if you get him angry enough, he'd do about anything to prove his point. Prove it to himself anyway. I think that makes him a bit more dangerous because he's ultimately got no limits. I get the feeling there are plenty of people who feel the same way about the Clintons. The difference, as I see it, is that the Clintons' version of winning requires that there be other people left to congratulate them on the job they did. Trump? Not really.

I'm really dreading tonight's 'debate'. I think we're probably going to see the race to the bottom reach new extremes. Can we just get Jimmy Carter back?

Jimmy Carter was a kind and decent man...too kind and decent. The perfect ticket to me would be Roanld Reagan and Jimmy Carter. To date, RR left office with the highest approval rate of any President. JC just held the common working class closer to heart bc that is where he came from.
I am sickened by politics today. I also don't vote for Congressman and senators for pres. I will vote for Governors because they have had to balance a budget but the others just spend money... I really liked John Kasick and I thought Mit Romney was a kind man. The pro-choice agenda didn't like him bc they thought he would fight to overturn abortions which he already said was not on his agenda. I think people are entitled to their personal opinions without assuming they are going to make it political agenda. The Bush's were pro life while the wives were pro choice. I usually vote republican for fiscal agenda but I did vote for Bill clinton in the first election. I am socially liberal though... Hate them all.... Sick of this crap and can't wait until November when it's over!

Arrgggh, I can't wait til this election is over, too. I am totally sick of Trump invading my life. I just want him to go away.

I don't ever want to see him again. Even hair jokes don't make me laugh anymore. Just go away.

Alec Baldwin did a good job on SNL last night, as of course did Kate McKinnon. I laughed at the time, but afterward I just got depressed again. God, how I want to see Hillary drinking from a bottle of champange on election night. Yeah, she's no Lincoln, but she's the best we've got right now, and she has tons of experience, a steady hand and a level head. I won't have any anxiety if she's in the Oval Office. And despite what some others say, I am convinced that she really does care about us.
