Unexpected Terrifying Flashback Experience

I just had a flashback. I haven’t had a (non emotional) flashback in years! I was transported in my mind right back to something scary I experienced years ago. My heart rate went through the roof. I was able to kind of get out of it but I feel triggered, tense, sense of foreboding, insane. Also, shaking like a leaf.

I thought I had processed the event.

Omg what if I’m spiraling back into madness?!

I just love being mentally ill. It’s so much fun. /s

Ah, the delights of being whacked in the face/chest/body and it completely taking the wind out of your sails.

Having a regression too.


But: you know what's happening. You're more prepared and able to work through it. Your starting point is better than the last time this happened. Just because it was painful or started a mental health decline previously, doesn't mean that will be repeated now.
You have tools to help and stabilise you. Now is the time to do those. Kick in that self care and up it.
