You know, I know that's what they led us to believe they were trying to do, but I'm not at all sure that was actually the plan. I think it was a good sounding story that they figured would work. I'd like to think, if democracy was the actual goal, we'd have done a better job of setting things up.

I agree with you Scout. On top of that, what right do we have to impose our democratic values on others if they don't want them. For a lot of people in the world, if not most, not all behavior is acceptable like it is in the US. For many, their religions do not permit certain behaviors, and their religions are of paramount importance. For others their long established cultures prohibit certain behaviors and not permitted under any circumstances. For them thier social mores have worked for them for hundreds, and in some cases thousands of years. What right do we have to kill them if they don't conform or submit to our ways? I say live and let live. If they attack us, well, that is a different matter. All bets are off. Beyond this, I think the US is being set up to start another war by the New World Order. These NWO folks are crazy as bed bugs. In the end they will get their reward. Shalom. :D

When the British were killing and enslaving Americans in our War of American Independence, against the British, and also the War of 1812, again against the British, the British Army officers thought it their duty to make "all the World, British". Well, the British have lost their empire. Well we Americans need to stop being surrogates for the English and the Europeans by making "all the world, American". It is not in our nature to try to dominate and subjugate other peoples of the world like the English and the French have for centuries. Remember the Europeans brought slavery to North America. Americans ended slavery. Let the Europeans try to make the Syrians European, if they want. @Dr.Knowbuddy, man do I agree with you 100% on the US leaving the Kurds out to dry. At least in the last year we have started giving them some hardware to fight with. I think the Turks are just licking their chops for the US to withdraw from our recent support of them (Kurds) so they (Turks) can go into Northern Syria and Northern Iraq to crush the Kurds with their huge army and wipe them off the Earth. It will be another genocide conducted by the Turks, the first being against Christian Armenians. History is about to repeat itself. Maybe the Iraqis and the Syrians will help the Kurds since the Turks have to invade both Iraq and Syria in order to wipe out the Kurds. Keep a close eye on the Turks, they may be the ones to start WW III, sorry to say. :D

It's somewhat beyond my comprehension why any group, like the Kurds, would trust us to back them up. Right off, I can't think of a case where we didn't bail on people when things got inconvenient.
