No we do not have a moral duty to "step in" and start WW III. That is BS of the highest order. The US...
You are entitled to your opinion and I am mine but you have no business telling me that what I believe to be the truth is "BS of the highest order."
AND we didn't start WWIII... That projection is untrue and hasn't happened. I am grateful for France, Britain, and the US for doing SOMETHING instead of nothing.

Of course the Russians are going to say there is no proof...they only benefit from the pipeline they paid Assad for that supplies them with oil...

I think it is too America-centric to claim that it’s up to the US to solve Syria and too America-c...
Agreed but we don't have to sit back and watch children die from Saran gas bombs. It's sickening on every level and the fact that people want to politicize the topic makes me want to vomit. I can't believe that every UN country out there isn't holding Assad accountable for his evil ways. Obama had proof back in 2011 that Assad gassed his own people and talked about it openly but said it was up to the Syrian people to work it out. Enough is enough. He continues to use chemical weapons to kill his opposition. It's awful. Whether he killed 10 people or 500,000, he still is a child murderer and has to go...

Kids are being killed in the Congo. Raped and murdered. By the hundreds. And yet the US hasn’t launched airstrikes there, or many other places where children have died horrible and painful deaths in much greater numbers due to civil wars. Kids are dying still in Syria. In huge numbers. Those that are not dying in Syria are dying in the Mediterranean. It horrific and the US does little to nothing to help those kids.

This strike has little to do with the children of Syria.

It’s really about Iran, Russia, Israel, weapons of mass destruction, and conflicts that go back decades.

Assad is terrible. I’m not sure those fighting him are better. In fact, one of his foes is ISIS. They have part of Damascus under their control.

The US has tried “regime change” before in the Middle East. That didn’t turn out well because there was not a big enough focus on the bigger picture.

I don’t think the US is looking for regime change in Syria as the goal, but is looking at what Iran and Russia are up to in Syria, so close to the border of Israel. Their build up of bases right next to Isreal, the sworn enemy of Iran (backed by Russia) could spark this into an even bigger war.

@Rumors "Stepping in" and killing a whole bunch more people, including more children, is not an answer. Walking on a knife's edge and risking thermonuclear war with Russia is not "something". Why? To satisfy someone's bloodlust? Do you understand what you are saying? What if it was your family member that got blown to kingdom come by one of those cruise missiles. Also, once you start a thermonuclear war there is no turning back. It is a one way trip to hell for everyone on Earth. Do you understand that? Do...you...understand...that? :D

Yes I completely understand I am not sure you do however. No innocent children were killed by last nights bombing. They were announced to the Russians and the Syrians before they bombed. They bombed the places that produce the chemical warfare. I think what you don't understand is you don't go to a gun fight with a knife. The fact that Assad even has chemical warfare should SCARE. YOU. TO. DEATH. I know exactly what I am saying and am grateful someone like you isn't in charge as we would be bullied and owned by North Korea. I am putting you on ignore bc I find you vile.

@Rumors You have absolutely no idea how many children may have been killed by that bombing. Please don't pretend you do. It is too early to know. Also, when you bomb places where toxic chemicals are, do you know what you do? You spread toxic chemicals all over the place, because you have destroyed their containment. Nice. :D

Yeah you still can't excuse the fact that Assad has chemical weapons that defies international law. I am certainly not excusing the Congo at all but I think Assad "one up's" the Congo bc of the weapons used. Next stop will be a bomb in NYC. Congo is bad and ugly and horrible and no doubt an atrocity. However, they are in fact separate issues and deserve their own time.
The debacle in syria has to do with the pipeline feeding Russia more than it has to do with old blood at this point. Russia is obligated to be on syrias side so they can continue to get cheap oil. Assad uses that to kill his people under the blanket of Russian protection. It's awful. Nothing but love here though.
