@scout86 Yes, I think I brought up the pay of CEO's earlier in this thread. It's disgusting what some CEO's get in pay, and all the benefits too. Just disgusting!!!! The insurance company's rule the drs, the patients, and the government... and then the is big pharma and how they control the price of drugs.....oh, and their pay scales too. Just makes your head spin!!!!,

What is really weird, is that these votes are not actually votes on the bills themselves. They are votes to get the ball rolling to debate the bill. These votes are not to pass or not pass a bill, but just procedural steps. It's kind of non-news, that's being made into huge. I keep wondering why. Usually these procedural votes are not news. They are just a blip of "Senate begins debate on bill to repeal." --- That's what the headline would usually say...
Tomorrow they plan on yet another vote on what's called "the skinny vote". Which if I'm correct, it's a slimmed down version of Obama care. "Rolls eyes and bangs head repeatedly on wall"
The proposed skinny bill isn't seen as a final plan. It is again a vote to debate/discuss a bill. This skinny proposed bill would repeal the individual and employer mandates, and the medical device tax -- and purposefully does nothing else right now, because they are voting only to debate the skinny bill. That's it. If this vote passes, it allows the house and senate to go to a conference committee - where amendments will likely be added - and work with each other on a final draft of a bill that would be sent back to House and Senate for an actual vote on the actual bill itself.

There is TONS of room to continue to amend the bill prior to a final vote on the bill, and that's kind of the point of the skinny bill. I'd expect this all to keep changing quite a bit and for nothing to be actually passed by either house or the senate for at least a little while longer.

Representative democracy is messy.

@Neverthesame I seriously doubt that would ever happen, or be allowed. Did anyone notice the picture of Trump and his interns???? All white, mostly men. I think that speaks volumes.

What I find really funny... there is a report that the reason for Trump stopping Trans from being in the armed service..... He doesn't want to pay for gender reassignment surgery as it cost too much, and that money can be used to fund his wall project. His trips to Mar a lago cost more than that, and the fact that the Pentagon spends MILLIONS of dollars on Viagra and Other erectile dysfunction drugs is laughable compared to reassignment surgery......

Then we now have the infighting within the WH, and the Mooch is now Mini Trump!!!!! Every minute it gets funnier and more scary at the same time!! !
