Us Va Deceptive Tactic - Tbi Vs. Ptsd

I myself have recently been seen for both TBI and PTSD, in the last few weeks, I was diagnosed with PTSD and told I didn't have TBI. Which I thought was interesting due to no one even bothering to give me a cat scan orMR, yet while I was on active duty I was given a cat scan and told I had TBI. I recommend anyone who is going to get evaluated to bring supporting documents with you. My wife wrote a letter about how I was. I told her I did not want to know what was in it but be truthful about what it was like dealing with me. I myself have a hard time expressing me problems to others like most I assume. I mean I don't know who this guy is asking me questions what his past is. I know I should tell them my past but its like telling a stranger my dirty secrets and it was hard to do. It helped alot having that letter so that when I was asked about certian things or events I could tell him. It painted a better picture of dealing with me and how it affects my life than I will ever be able to paint for a stranger myself. I also brought a copy of some of my military awards and statements from soldiers I served with. The VA will help you have to remember that they are humans too and most dont know what its like to have gone through what you have and are trying to help you even if there is a barrier between us and them.

Thanks much guys and sorry if I may have come off too strongly opinionated..sometimes no matter how many college degrees I have I am a stupid man. I do blame PTSD and now I have a Brain trauma which was not caught in 1969, from mortar fire and 122mm rocket attacks. . Just saying hello and still appealing my PTSD issue. I do believe they will approve and I got a letter saying they would have to give me retroactive pay since 1981 when I first went to the vA. Before that I would have nothing to do with anything military and refused to step foot inside a VA hospital. Again, I apologize and just want to be of help to my comrades.

The secret is to skip getting the diagnosis from the USDoVA. Go through the civilian Docs first, then transfer the records to your USDoVA Primary Care Doc. This legitimate route bypasses the broken, corrupt VA intake system and saves you years of B.S. getting your claim through.
The Next step is never use the VA telephone system when dealing with claims data for PTSD and TBIs.

Utilize the Link Removed.

You give them a limited power of attorney to handle your claims process for you. Hell, they fill the damned forms out. All you have to do is review, sign and date. This also results in EXPEDITED CLAIMS processing as the DAV has lawyers that exist only to crack the whip on those bureaucrats at the VA. Oh, did I mention that that service is FREE? you do not have to be a DAV member to use it, just a disabled veteran with a service connected disability.
I got next day service- no joke. Filled out the two forms on a monday, got the confirmations from the DAV and the USDoVA on Tuesday afternoon in the mail. Was called by claims processing on Wednesday. Last time I tried dealing with these assholes at the VA it took four months just to get the proper forms...

Absolutely! Great post Sludge. Thought we covered that so good that you saw through the clutter. Always manage your medical records yourself so when you walk into the VA you simply hand over a pile (a COPY ~ because they're great at loosing things) of medical paperwork that backs up your claim already. Make it as easy as possible to do their job. If you hand them something that looks complicated, messy & unclear than they will put it at the bottom of the pile and go for something that looks easier. They get scored by the amount of claims they process not the hours they spend on them.

How do you go to the DAV. I went, told them what I was doing and th e guy said hit the bricks! I needed to be SC'd. If i was SC'd then why the hell would i need a DAV rep?
