Walked Into One Of My Abusers Yesterday, Didn't Do Me Anything!

I walked into one of my abusers yesterday, and it did not do me anything! No flashbacks, no guilt, no bad feelings! I would call that a huge accomplishment for me! Have stayed away from town for years since I know he hangs out int the largest shopping center there with the rest of the pensioners gang! I actually saw him, and he saw me and he turned red like a new boiled lobster and ran!!!! The level of power has shifted! He does not have any power or influence over me any more!
Just wanted to share, because I am actually a bit proud of myself and what I have accomplished the last months with EMDR!

Now it's time for Christmas shopping and "taking back" the town!

He,he, AdamAnt, no I haven't been practicing saying Boo! With this guy, apparently my whole body language and attitude was enough to make him run! But I will practice the Boo thing!:D

Good for you! You are so lucky to have found some success with EMDR. The last therapist I saw knows how to do it - but I kept numbing and dissociating too much during sessions and we were never able to move into trying it. I have to work on the dissociating first. I'm glad it's working for you!
