This is Stanmoor Country Park. It is an old WW2 air base. The chimney is a memorial to the personnel who served there.

Wow KP! They are lovely photos!

I love the thought of people with satnavs driving into the river LOL. My H does not trust those things at all.

I had a good walk yesterday while shopping! I was in the local village at the doctors and then the library then I had to go into town for a new pillow; and then to Staples for a file for my eldest and a new journal for me. So I walked around the shops a lot and that was enough!

I have no idea when the next walk is but if it stops raining I might get put locally.

I just finished some jogging/walking in my local neighborhood. I was able to get out there before it got too hot out. According to this handy new app I downloaded, it was 1 1/2 miles. I really enjoyed it. I have a bit of a headache now, but I imagine that will pass. I am pretty happy with myself

I wish I lived somewhere flat

Cheshire? Lincolnshire? Plenty of places but where you lives is so lovely KP.

H, my eldest and myself went to Albert Dock in Liverpool yesterday for the Irish Sea Tall Ships festival.

We parked up the river at Otterspool and walked the 3 miles to the Dock. We spent some time walking around and looking at the ships. I gave my eldest some money, he met up with his friend and they went off to do their own thing. H and I took full advantage and went to a cafe for lunch.

Then we walked the 3 miles back to Otterspool. So about 61/2 miles and not a single ache today!

Tall ships are so impressive. In 1987, H and I were in Cape Town when the tall ships sailed into the harbour. Wow, they looked amazing with Table Mountain as a back drop. They were sailing to Australia. One of the ship was the replica Bounty, from the movie.

My walking will be tested this week. H has my car some days, so I will have to walk either from work or to and from work. The problem walking there is that it is all uphill - one of the disadvantages of living on a gorge.

Its good to see you, Cath :). I am back to starting over a bit myself and got this morning in between storms with Big Girl in the muggy steam of it all :yuck: but we did it! Came home, showered and felt pretty good about it!
