Dear STBGP, I'm, really happy, that you received such great news. If I understood your "about us" right, you have solely male offspring? Wouldn't it be nice to have a little granddaughter? My family comes from a very Mr./Mrs/Master/Miss/Dr. Lastname kind of culture to put this in perspective.

My dad got all mischievous and decided to teach the first grandchild to call him by this fabulously ornate made up title. Think: Dashing Dangerous Daredevil Dan! ((He wasn't around much when we were little. So what happened from there was a bit of a surprise for him.)) Instead of having a little minion heralding his entrance "Dashing Dangerous Daredevil Dan! What adventures are we onto today?!?" like some kind of radio broadcast from the 40s? The grandkids all call him ..."Dan". :roflmao:

Word to the wise: pick a short name.

In retrospect, my dad would have preferred "Sir".

As for the age thing, my Dad became a very proud Granddad (he refuses to use the 'step' bit) at the age of 27, and at 55 he acquired the additional title of Great-Granddad.
