Weekly Social Weight Loss And Exercise Catch Up

Hi everyone,

I've been having a hard time on gaining weight in a short time frame, I lost 20 odd kilos over a year long period and went onto meds for PTSD, they changed the dose a few weeks ago and I put on 10 kilos over the last 8 or so weeks it seems to have stopped this week but I hate it.

I walk down the beach twice a day for 45 mins each time and am very active during the day, I have always heard from people that some meds make you gain weight, I'm on venlafaxine and seroquel I didn't post this in the medication section as I thing it is more social, what I thought was if there are others on here that have had the same problem, what if once a week you came on here and just put what you gained of lost, not your starting weight or goal weight but if you just come on and say I lost 2 pound or I gained 1 kilo whatever you did, and maybe we could support others and help them to, I don't know it's just an idea.

Even to come on and say how your exercise went for the week, I think there are so many things that cause us to feel like we are failing, and there is so much pressure on people, it would be nice just to be able to come on and say how you went with your week, whether it be food, weight, or exercise related.

I'm just throwing it out there and seeing what you all think, it's just so many people seem to struggle and I think it is so much harder when you are on a whole lot of drugs to help with PTSD and everything else that we have been told we have, I just think there maybe some who it might be able to help even just to say how your week went and how you feel your doing for that week, I don't know it's just an idea, tell me if you think it is a really dumb idea

Sammy you live near the ocean!?! So awesome....

I am starting my diet next week, probably on Monday. I am on vacation right now, so of course.... I want to lose about 40 pounds. Of course the guy I'm seeing says "you're beautiful just as you are, I support you in losing weight, but don't become a stick!" LOL, he likes girls who have a bit of curve. I know I need to lose a bit because I am having a few health issues pop up and such, and I want to get them under better control.

I guess I won't have any losses to show for two weeks then. Good luck everybody!
 
I think this is a great idea! I too am unhappy with where my weight is at, and would like to try and get my eating under control as well as start exercising. I'm about 30lbs overweight, and about 50-60 lbs over what I was only 5 years ago, when I (think I) felt and looked great.

I'm in the same boat as you @Solara, the guy I'm seeing now says he can't even imagine me being smaller because he loves how I look now. I'm glad he feels that way and likes me as I am, cause every guy Ive ever dated wanted me to be as thin as possible, but I feel so lethargic and my joints hurt, and I know that would change if I lost some weight.

So how do we do this?! :)
 
Well thanks everyone, to be honest I haven't really thought about how to do it as I thought no one would reply.

We could pick a couple of days like a Friday or Monday, to so call post how we have gone, like I've lost 2 pound or I've put on 2 pound.

We could also share recipes and ideas and tips or just anything that might help, like the PTSD, AA, Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, and there is probably a million others chat support group.

All ideas will be great, we need to all think about what we need and include that as well, it needs to be a very interactive page I think, any ideas

Well, okay, so Fri, Ill do my weigh in and check in with how much weight I want to lose, then go from there. I've been traveling a lot lately, and will be for the next couple of months, so it's going to be a bit hard on one hand as far as keeping my diet under control, but on the other hand, those hotels have gyms and pools so I'll be able to work out at least. Hoping for the best!
