What An Intriguing And Hopeful Concept...

I subscribe to a daily email from The Enneagram Institute. (The Enneagram is a very cool personality test...a little like Myers-Briggs, but far more subtle and comprehensive). I've been on the email list for two years, and I am continually astonished by how often the little nuggets of wisdom provide EXACTLY the thought/intention I need (even if I don't want it). Todays was:
"Maybe I can trust people and let them know what I need. Maybe I can live happily in the world." (The Wisdom of the Enneagram, 355)
Wow. What a concept. I am practicing this as best I can. And guess what? I think it's true!!! My parts don't realize it yet, but they're getting there. It has only taken 52 years.

I highly recommend the Enneagram for anyone who has never done it. They have a shorter free version that is surprisingly accurate in my experience (most of my family and friends whom I've roped into doing it have found that their type on the free version is the same as their type on the paid version). I have a type! (I have a type - I have a type - I have a type!) LMAO. I never get a "type" on these sorts of tests. MyersBrigs I'm within 1 point either way of all 8 of the suckers, so it's meaningless, and I'm so bloody midline on every other damn thing I've had professors & counselors have me repeat things just to see if they could get a result, any result, even if the wrong one.

<laughing> So I'm just tickled to death that a test finally smooshed me into a box :p Okay. Technically 2 boxes. But hey! I'll take it.

Yay! Sometimes, I love labels. However suspect they are (or I am of them), there IS something reassuring about them!
Irony for me...with all my weird parts that hijack me all the time, I am pretty consistent on personality tests. Probably because whatever part I'm in when I take them is the one to whom these things appeal. Lol.

7 (enthusiast) & 5 (investigator)

:) I'm a 5. And it's dead-on for me. But my close second was a 9 (peacemaker). If you get interested enough to investigate further, I suspect you will find it quite enlightening and validating.

I'm a 9 and it does indicate. I am often the peacekeeper. I enjoyed doing this test, it gave a soft of pat on the back, so thanks for sharing!
