Until recently I was receiving specialist DID/trauma therapy for the first time, since being lost in the mental health system being incorrectly treated for almost 6 years. However, they have now deemed me too 'high risk' to do the work as an outpatient and have discharged me. They have recommended an inpatient setting.
I am NHS commissioned so any decision has to come from them, but does anybody know of anything I could perhaps suggest to them? I am terrified of being sent to a generic mental health hospital; it is the opposite of helpful. Similarly 'specialist personality disorder wards' are also the opposite of what I need, and I find it harmful to be in them. Are there any units that specialist in complex trauma and dissociation?
I have heard Manor Hall has recently changed into a brain injury unit, although their website still says they are a centre of trauma. Could anybody clarify? Does anybody know of anywhere else?
Many thanks.
