Hi Nadege. Paxil is a terrible medication to get off. I have been taking it for 20 years now and have tried unsuccesfully to get off it.

The results have been ringing in my ears, faintness, dizziness and many other side effects. As it is the only e of this type that I take I decided to stay on it. It has helped me with my anxiety and paranoia tendancies.

Hi Loloma, what happens to you if you reduce the dose gradually? or does it get bad when you try to quit altogether?

Paxil for me was the worst of all the medications I got off of. Even tapering off withdrawals were not pleasant. Ringing in the ear, sensitivity to light and sound, increased anxiety, etc. I am so glad I was able to get off medication. Been 12 years since I have been off paxil. I am the one who posted #2 on this thread.

Well one good thing in being off of it is you will start to lose weight. Paxil makes you gain weight. I am wishing you the best with getting off of it. I am sorry you are struggling so.
