I'm feeling proud of myself for coping with the unusual this week.
Firstly, last Sunday, Hubby and I spent the night in Harrogate. Our daughter plays cello in a band and we went to watch them. Storms were forecast but thankfully, they didn't come that far north. I hate going into new situations, staying somewhere I hadn't been before, walking to the venue, finding the venue...... I'm pleased to say that I had a great night. When we arrived, the band before my daughters were still playing, VERY LOUDLY. There was nowhere to sit and I could feel the panic rising. Anyway, I managed to hijack a table. Hubby and I sat with my daughters (boy)friend and the girlfriend of another band member. I was shaking so much so I used my trusted lemon oil and did some breathing and managed to relax.
They played amazingly. After the gig we all went for a meal and then headed back to the venue to watch the last band. I was put off by an obnoxious drunk who kept trying to get me to play 'sex cards' with him. *SHUDDER* thankfully, hubby saw him off.
The following day, hubby and I drove in appalling conditions across to York to again meet with my daughter. We went out to lunch where to my pride, my daughter was recognised as the cello player. Later that night, hubby drove us home. By this time I was hyper-vigilant, watching the traffic and expecting an accident at any time.
Secondly, I've done my usual work, aquafit and swimming. Lots of housework completed as well.
Lastly, the band were playing in Birmingham last night. After the gig, they all came to stay the night. I made a batch of Butternut Squash and Leek soup. I also baked some cup cakes. It was great to see them again. I always panic when we have visitors. Hubby and I both took time off work so we could give them a good breakfast before they headed off to Brighton.
It was quite sweet as one of the band is scared of dogs (I have 2). Anyway, within 5 minutes of entering the house, she was sat on the floor with my dog Max on his back, with a teddy in his mouth having a fuss off her. She is now a fan of my dogs.
So now, I'm feeling happy, proud that I managed and a little tired.
