For me it really can vary depending on what I'm going through. If its an emotional upheaval, what I term an "episode", then praying helps. If its just a space cadet type of thing where I feel nothing, then I start grasping at straws as it is a different type of dissociation. Last time it was sugar that grounded me. Unfortunately I had to keep on eating sugar so I was on a sugar high the whole day, but tis life. Other times I just end up floating out there in la la land because not much of anything brings me back and I have to wait it out until my mind feels safe again. I've tried a lot of grounding tools over the years, but I've gravitated toward the ones that work.
