What Are Your Triggers?

Triggers, huh? I have never thought of even making a list! Thanks for the idea. I will make one for myself...
That's actually a very common type of flashback/trigger. Smells are one of the most strongest link to memory.

It's kind of funny--to me-that it is his bad breath. And the sound of breathing near me.

The other question that I would like to ask, is if anyone has a "day" that triggers a memory? I have found that I have a terrible time falling asleep on sunday nights. I know that the week is starting and it's off to work we go--but it is different with Sunday. Last week, sunday night, I was having my usual hard time dozing off. Then I started to cry, I didn't know why, I just did. I layed there and tried to figure out what was bothering me. The tears started falling and I sat up to get myself under control. I still don't know why that night is a problem for me. But, now I know that it is related to a painful memory.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this - or even experienced it??

Some triggers and stressors are;

Men
Sex and nudity
Pets
Someone touching me
Storms, especially tornadic ones
Someone standing behind me
Being in Public
Meeting new people
Going new places
Anything about satanic rituals or witchcraft
Alcohol consumption by others
Black light posters
The Great Wall of China
Weapons
Being alone

to name a few., but there are many times that I do not recognize the trigger and must assume that I have been triggered by something that reminds me of the past.

I hope no one takes this the wrong way but sometimes this website is a trigger for me.
There have been times when being triggered by stuff I read here has been helpful. It's pointed me in the direction of what I need to work on that I never realized was an issue before. Of course sometimes it can be too much, and I don't always know that until I'm well into the deep end of "too muchness."

I'm not really sensitive to triggers, but some things can cause me to flashback. I've been triggered a few times a month. I try to talk about my trauma to myself and online in a lighthearted manner to make it seem like a lighthearted experience to myself, if that makes any sense.

Anyone touching my neck or around my neck -makes me so sick to my stomach
Angry yelling in a foreign language (lol)
The smell of smoke or tequila
Lots of blood
Being hit in the face in a non-joking manner

Police, sirens, police vehicles
Guns and objects which pop like gunshot sounds
Prairie dogs
Men cursing
Motorcycles
Spaghetti sauce
Knives
Doors slamming
Discussions about drugs and alcohol

Okay....all I can list right now as starting to feel overwhelmed and need to take break.

The other questi...

@katz Just wanted to say I experience this as well. Sunday nights usually spike a lot of my symptoms and sleep is impossible. Connections are still bubbling to the surface for me so I'm not sure yet if this is related to an event or memory. Sucks though!

These lists were very helpful to read. Especially the regular, everyday items. I am new to PTSD peer environments, so I hadn't realized that other people also had scores of everyday items that triggered them.

I don't believe that I am at the point where I have a definable "list" but I can try to put down some things off the top of my head:
Sliced bread
Clean socks/underwear
Anything dirty
Being hit, even light, play slapping, especially by a child
Long skirts
Cleavage
Breast-feeding
Dogs on chains
The word "suzuki"
Flies
Marijuana
Blood
