Yes we gravitate toward causes b/c the world done us wrong and we are good at spotting harm and BS. I left social justice sphere 1 year ago and life is a lot nicer. Social justice likely means philanthropy, which in my case became a total sham IMHO. The people's lives never changed. Who cares who's to blame? I got really depressed by the hopelessness and blatant use of disenfranchised populations for money. Now I am in a fully capitalistic job and loving it. It's so simple: grow and profit, don't break any laws, period. Re: is it PTSD is it trauma, does not matter. All roads in either case lead to self-loathing, insecurities, difficulties with relationships, hypervigilance, addictions, and and and. The whole traumasphere is toxic, and much depends on the length and depth of the traumas in terms of healing. You can heal but social justice is a heavy lift. Work on YOU. Don't let others' causes distract from your healing, ok? The differences in specific diagnoses I think become material when it comes to meds and dosage. The chemical controllers for mania are different than depression only, et al. Try capitalism. For me it's more healing than non-p world.
