When we smile we get really good feelings. Smiling is said to help our systems make endorphins, which are the happy chemicals in our bodies and minds.
I notice that when I watch my fish in my 2 aquariums, they make me smile a lot and so I watch them often. I have a recliner in my bedroom where I often sit and I have a 5 gallon tank near there. I have a beta fish and two cory catfish that are albino with red eyes. The way they all swim just makes me happy and brings smiles to my face often. The beta is red and beautifully graceful when he swims.
In my 10 gallon tank I have 4 red fish that always stay close together and another two catfish. The catfish in that tank are hilarious! One of them I have nick-named "Floppy" because she likes to just flop down on her side after swimming upside down and curling herself around some of the gravel. I have never seen anything like this in a fish. At first I thought she was passing away, sick or deformed, but I thought I would give her a chance. I am glad I did, because she is still going strong after a couple of weeks of this! Then sometimes she will lay down next to the male peacefully and they look like they are kissing. I always smile when they do that.
What kinds of things in your lives make you smile a lot or even just a little?
