An aunt of mine was diagnosed with terminal cancer (liver) a few months ago. Sadly, her condition has been steadily deteriorating, she is now in hospice to make the short time she has left, as comfortable as possible. (The staff at this hospice take extremely good care of her by the way.)
Few days ago she developed pain in her abdomen which seemed to be a worsening of the disease. Her meds were changed, no improvement.
While mum was telling me about this, I suggested that she might just be constipated from the pain control drugs. (I didn't believe it either.)
Next day. Mum tells me she's not getting any better, most likely bad news.
Today. Get an update from mum about aunt's condition.
She says she's doing much better. It turned out she really was just constipated.
That really is the first good news I've heard in a very long time.
This is also the first time I have been so happy about someone having a bowel movement.
