Today was a good day. My daughter turned 6. She had lost her 1st front tooth last night, so the "Tooth Fairy" gave her a $2 bill and a new baby doll. I got the baby doll idea at 3am...lucky for me I have things like that on hand in the garage!
In the morning I took her to the nail shop, a special treat she enjoys. She selected her color carefully and had flowers painted on both hands.
In the afternoon, we attended a good friend's birthday party. It was held at a warehouse type building with a dozen small "themed houses" lining the walls and children running everywhere. In the middle there were comfy chairs for the parents and tables for birthday parties, etc.
After the party, I took her older brother shopping to buy her birthday present. In years past there has always been a gift from him to her, but he had never selected it himself. He chose a Barbie DVD movie for her...staying within his budget!
In the evening we went to the restaurant she got to choose, a salad bar style place we all like. We saw our neighbor there, from right across the street, and she got to show off her missing tooth. She opened her gifts after dessert and told me that I was the best Mom ever!
We came home exhausted and all went to bed. My husband woke me up, just awhile ago, in the nicest way possible, and now at 3:30am I'm ready to go back to sleep. I think I'll have sweet dreams...it was a good day!
Thanks for a nice thread!
