News Why It's So Hard To Talk To White People About Racism

@Lucky Duck, multiple people in this thread and others have proven it is true. By their lived experiences.
That's called anecdotal evidence. I'm not asking for that. They do not represent a whole, just themselves. It does not make their experience any less real. It's just not proof that white privilege exists. You went on such a leap I feel the need to point this out.

You are gaslighting people, you are dehumanizing, you're silencing, you're doing multiple things that actively hurt people. Not a sensible thing.

You're the saying I have no empathy. You know what? That's dehumanizing. No way around that. And yet you have the gall to say I'm dehumanizing.

No matter what I say, you're not going to like it. There's no winning. There's no real communication with you at this point.

I'm not actually writing this to you, it's more for those who are reading and can grasp the esoteric.

Enough what you call anecdotal evidence? Is reality. It IS representation of multiple wholes, across cultures.

'Does not make their experience any less real' vs. 'That's just anecdotal evidence'. In characterizing people's lives as anecdotal evidence, one diminishes the very depth, hence realness, of them.

What I said is that your approach to the topic lacks empathy for people's lives. That is far from an insinuation you lack empathy, as a whole. Also, that is what we DO on this forum, pointing out to each other, in multiple topics. To get better. I'm not the big bad for doing it here.

It is not actually worse to be called dehumanizing (or racist, or any other -ist), than do that to people.

'There's no winning, so I'm not talking to you', well if it's 'winning' instead of understanding & education, perhaps this is not a thread whose spirit you're following.

You're reacting emotionally, working on a bias that is your own, misrepresenting my arguments, ignoring your own cognitive distortions, name calling, dehumanizing someone just because they do not share your opinion, silence, shame, countless accusations all in the name of FECK YOU, YOU DON'T AGREE WITH ME!!!

So yeah, get better soon, I'll be waiting for the cheque in the mail.

No, it's not. It's conditioned by socialization. By how you're raised. Same as with other social reactions. Racism isn't needing to drink & eat, it's not instinctual, it's how you learn to think about your self worth and that of others.

I would have to disagree. When you dig deep (read Reptile brain) a survival instinct is to fear anything different. Socialization can reinforce it but the intellectual part of the brain can learn to override it.

I see your flag indicates Czech Republic and you related you fear for your safety because (I might be misunderstanding) your gay. I know in Russia from news reports that Homosexuality is still considered illegal or at least socially unacceptable by a large majority. Does this thought process extend to the Czech Republic?

@Bill Dickerson You do have an understanding it may be courteous to first ask members if they're alright with their location named, or not?

I have not related 'fear of safety' for orientation fears, that IS a misunderstanding. I have not spoken of 'fear of safety'. I spoke of experiences that already happened, keep happening, will keep happening. Because of race, topically. Not orientation. It wasn't speaking about 'fears'. It was speaking about faced situations.

As to answer, yes & no. As in no to legality, yes to a lack of acceptance. Shrug. Had worse.

I think there may be some language difficulties. I'm having trouble following your posts. I don't understand the above quote.

If I understand correctly you have faced some issues in reference to your race in the Czech Republic. Is that correct?

I don't understand the above quote.
Okay, different level English: Basically saying not everyone around here may be fine with their location disclosed, either if current or transitory. That just because it can be viewed by members, does not mean it's helpful to bring up, unless people are specifically asking for local information, local legal information and options, and the like.

Yes to your other question.
