I think I am racist against some people not because I want to be or because I think it is right, but rather because I was conditioned to be. I think a certain race of people are low-lifes and that is probably an unfair statement but, how does one go about changing that perception when it is all they really know of a whole race of people?

Easily. You're engaging in a colossal cognitive distortion.
You don't actually happen to know whole race of people.
You don't even happen to know the majority of people of that race, as it's impossible.

So focus on what in your actual life leads you to that perception that people of X race are Y trait.
Question that label. Start viewing them as people, and the labeling & thought of their actions & natures you have as something that is just that: your thought.
Not about them at all. But about you.

The same way you tackle every cognitive distortion. Look for the persuation as not a measure of reality, but a measure of perception.

Yes, I hate this thread; Yes I want it to die but now that we've contracted to talk it out well then I will. People won't like what I have to say but f*ck it.

In the complete non online version of my great grandma's story it says that her heritage comprises both slaves, slave-holders and Cherokee Indians-my cousin traced it back to slavery.

I have given examples of all types of racism...including against my best friend though eligible for financial aid until this Black dude hooked him up-he was literally told that he is not a priority over non-whites. However the 5 of us who survived the BS program in chemistry where ALL Non-whites, One Korean(woman), One African(woman) , One Afro-American, One Iranian (older woman) and me whatever the hell I am.


Just for another real life account of White racism to be fair; My now 6' 2" younger brother (very dark skinned) who was very small for a long time was attacked by a large group of white teens and young adults and wound up in the ER. They called him nigger and said niggers don't belong here. I drove to the place and looked for them with him in the car cuz I was planning on breaking (at least some of their),faces but they were gone. I've been in maybe 150 fights a lot of those in groups many of those against much bigger males or adults so I wasn't scared. Eventually, we did the 'right' thing and went to the heroes i.e cops and not only did they say it wasn't a racial/bias attack but they said 'it's just kids playing and 'we should drop this' That felt good after driving around to not find any of them and sitting with him in the ER. Yeah police they care protect and serve, right?

Yes, I call him the judge and we do fight but he's my 'baby brother' always.

So yes I want this thread with mostly people who dont know what the f*ck they are talking about when it come to racism due to lack of real life experience---to just die.
