Apparently it went well, suspiciously well... Doesn't seem like will be leaving my life anytime soon so that's comforting.I wish this new acquaintance will be online and not upset at me when I contact tomorrow and please don't drop me or disappearThere isn't much for me to live for.
This is such a big part of where I’m at right now in my head tooI'm not sure why someone is willing to put up with me without expecting anything in return...
Poetry was a subject deliberately NOT taught to children… for centuries. As it was deemed too powerful, influential, passionate… for developing minds. Instead? It was reserved for university & beyond.I wish I'd never learned all the poems at school
Zizek says in the documentary “How to Become Free,” that there is no ethnic cleansing without poetry, that so many of the great poets of the last centuries were fascists, and that Putin’s main propagandists are poets and artists. So it’s still extremely powerful and influential but people don’t realize it—which is a kind of true power.it was deemed too powerful, influential, passionate
Very true! I published a book of English haiku this year (first in a series of three), and my haiku (and other poetry) *teaches* history.Poetry was a subject deliberately NOT taught to children… for centuries. Modernly? We teach poetry to toddlers, and reserve -real- history for university.
