The Washington state thing.....
the virus showed up in a long term care facility. The 11 who have died were all elderly and had health problems. Public Health now thinks it's been in the state for at least 6 weeks but people only had mild symptoms so they weren't tested for it. A lot of businesses around the Seattle area have their people working from home and there have been some major events postponed but it's not quite the doom and gloom that the media has portrayed.
There are several counties in the state that have people they are monitoring for possible exposure but so far it's a non event. The biggest problem is people freaking out and overloading the ER and 911 systems because they are sure they have it and they are afraid they are going to drop dead. The media is hyping people up in a big way....and the message that most who get it will have a mild case is completely lost.
Although you can still find hand sanitizer and toilet paper in the stores so maybe not quite as bad here!
