News Worldwide impact of the novel coronavirus (covid-19)

People in my area are going crazy panic buying. The stores need to limit what people can buy. I'm genuinely worried about food now. I have about enough for a week or two (if I used up everything I already have) but then what? Are the stores even going to do home deliveries? :(

Amazon has a grocery area. Though price gouching would happen.

Im almost out of milk and don't have enough for a few weeks. I mean, I didn't think we needed to stock food unless we had a reason to quarnitine. This is f*cked up. Makes preppers look less weird though.

ETA: I do stock food when a hurricane is coming. Its not like I don't prepare. But didnt think we needed to stock food unless we were in a direct need to quarntine.

My wife went out awhile on errands with one of our daughters. She said it's quiet. It's quiet here . The main road is one house over . It's Saturday and the sun is out, and there should be more traffic noise. I keep remembering, oh yes, the world has come to a halt more or less. It's not seeming like that here . But it's noticeably quiet.

I seem to be waking up “frozen” every morning. I’m afraid to check the news. In the mean time, my older teenagers and husband are out living their lives. @EveHarrington My doctors won’t let me stockpile drugs. I had a mild panic attack the other night, but didn’t take a Xanax because I’m afraid I may need it later.

I still went to ballet class today.

Change is noticeable. Half of the group attended, we had disinfectant provided at the door and in the WC and there was extra disinfecting between classes. We didn't work at the barre for extra safety, just in the center.
Tomorrow our lovely teachers will film some of the moments from class for those choosing to nevertheless stay at home.

Change is noticeable, but still, I'm glad I went. It was a moment of relaxation between all the news and updates. A welcome way to balance and center myself in my body for a moment and forget about the rest.

dogs do not get Covid-19. That's been confirmed now. Your pets are safe.
Any word on pets other than dogs?

My little bird, Tweeter, has a pretty teeny respiratory system. Obviously he's pretty sheltered; being only either in his cage or flying around my bedroom. But I've still got that "what if" if someone in our flat gets it.

There's no food here either. Im thinking of buying it on Amazon. Coworkers say all stores are bare and/or closed and one said a line at Costco around the entire store and down the street. Im f*cked for food!

ETA: I got beans ans rice. It really is the end of the world. Jesus!

ETA2: I was being sacastic. Though, i wish the news would tell people to stop mass buying food!

ETA3: I got loads of water from my hurricane preps. Now, I can drink water while i slowly starve to death. Ugh!

The news brief from the White House. It was on here a couple hours ago. I watched some I’ll watch the rest later, this is history in the making.

Travel is now suspended to all of Europe England and Ireland.

When asked if travel would be restricted in the states they said “probably from hot spots”.

They said if you get sick stay home we will make sure you get paid but don’t go to work sick.

They (the press) said Apple is closed for a couple weeks and is that a good idea? probably a good idea, we have to keep everyone away from everyone for a short while”.

So they kinda said it’s ok if EVERYTHING closes for a couple weeks.

Wow

I think the Apple store thing isn't so bad. Those are crowded on a good day and no one really needs to go into one. They don't sell food, shelter or clothing.
If they start talking about places that carry necessities, then I'll start worrying. Though it is still a little disconcerting.

I make a mean red beans and rice. Now I want to make dinner lol

I read today that Tesco are, though they expect to fill slots quicker than usual. So advise booking in advance. And I think it said certain items would have a limit on them.

Visited supermarket just now, busy, though that's normal for saturday afternoon. Meat isle was virtually emptied but didn't notice too many shortages otherwise. Pharmacy shelves were a bit empty too.

My concern is I'll order and they won't have most of the stuff when they come to me (that can happen even at the best of times, not all food but sometimes they'll come with nothing of one or two of my main staples :( )

I guess you don't have too many vegans round your way!

Me too :( I hope you'll be able to get more food.
