FYI: Saint Valentine is liturgical for some of us prior to Hallmark:hug:. It will never be shoved off the calender as it is a stationary Church Holiday among a few denominations.

Whether I have PTSD or not, it unfair to minimize anothers pain...so I hear you as well as the 'other' poster too. Being jaded is not resolution but exclusion. I will not fence with you Sir Laurie and will take the hits you deal in quiet understanding of your rage...but I have not known you to chide someone for hurting or loving before. I have always admired your sensitivity...

I loved your post. Personally, i think of "Valentine's Day" as a joke. (A way for hallmark to make more sales maybe?) I think of all the 'reluctant' husbands buying cards for their wives(like my Dad does), or guys buying "I'll love you Forever" cards to their girlfriends till 6 months later and they show their real selves to each other and realize it "won't work". I am truly sorry for everything you went through...And, you are STILL in the armed forces for protecting the weak and doing good, even though it isn't 'official'. What does that mean anyway? :)

Many many :hug:s to you Laurie. You are a survivor, a brave and kind soul. You have survived a lot and I am proud of your courage for not giving up on life despite going through all these hardships. I am not here to give sympathy but tell you that I respect your courage. Healing will come with time and I'm sure you'll reach that point with all the hardwork and dedication. :hug:s for you Dear Laurie from one of your fans on the forum :)

Good for you on the great vent. I agree it is a Hallmark marketing scheme like so many others. I was so moved by what you had to tell. I wish the very best of healing and recovery for you because you so deserve it. I feel your rage and you are so normal for what you have suffered and endured.
