You know you have PTSD when your Therapist expenses over the years have equaled an luxury car. But you figure, it was a good trade off because you hated to leave the house anyway.

When you're laying on your side on your bed and your mom walks in to tell you something funny. And as she laughs and turns to leave she reaches out and pats you repeatedly on your backside. And you want to scream "DON'T TOUCH ME" at her. But you don't. And like a good girl you lay there and let her because you know what will happen if you pull away. And as soon as she leaves the room you want to rub the feeling off of yourself.

When you are sitting in the airplane and you startle at every loud noise. And then you explain to people why you jump. And they smile and understand. And the lady sitting next to you puts her hand on your arm and says, "you're OK."

When inviting your best friend over, who is also PTSD, you work out with her everything that could go wrong in her getting her along with solutions to the problems, just in case. (She's coming Friday).
