You Know You Have PTSD When...

When writing a check, you can't even recall what year it is, let alone what day or month. The only year that came to mind was 1985, and I knew it wasn't the right year, but I could not for the life of me get any other year in my mind.

1985 was the year I first contracted Lyme Disease from tick bites. It is the thing that has ruined my life and causes me many a panic attack, whenever I come into contact with tall grasses (where ticks hang out).

When you are trying to sell two stuffed animals your mother had when she was a child and you almost can't because you feel you might hurt them by separating them and they'd be alone and miss the other. And when you have trouble even putting any stuffed animal in any box because it's dark in there and they might feel lonely and scared. And when you then realize that you really mean what you're saying in that post you're currently writing. :shy:

You know you have PTSD when you walk out of your school building (not knowing where you are) without a coat; and are surprised to see the snow on the ground.

Meanwhile your friend coming in just turns you around, places her arm around you and says cheerily "We've got class. It's not time to go home yet." and all the while you're wondering why there was snow on the ground, 'cause it doesn't snow here...right?
