You Know You Have PTSD When...

Still struggling with the sound of a soda/beer can being popped open. I want to cover my ears because it floods back the oppessive memories of the thousands of beer cans my father popped open during my childhood and early adulthood. I am not around him anymore to hear "HIS" cans but the sound is still the worst sound in the world to me. :banghead:

You know you have ptsd when you forget to lock the back door at night.
...or when you make sure the door is locked, and won't go to bed without checking. One is the forgetful side of PTSD :meh: and the other is the "I must save myself from danger" PTSD .

...When you fly off the handle for a minor reason, and then say sorry, noticing the alarmed look on a person's face, and you kick yourself in your brain for not remembering to be less stressed :(.

...When you've felt stressed for so long, you're starting to forget what feeling relaxed is like.

...When every noise outside startles you, and you long for silence.
