I must say mine sort of changed with time, and now I relate more with some Croatian songs
So let me just list:
Superman by Hladno Pivo
It's just such a sad song, and says a lot about regret upon some actions, that one has or has not done, and how much grief can come from constant going over those things.
"I would give everything, that one night, to stay the same man in your eyes"
"Now I see us in that black and white film, that the car lights are playing on the wall, trying to sort out things in me, don't know whether their place is in my heart or mind"
"I must know I tried to give it all"
It also says a lot about the shitty situation of the country, and how very little to nothing is being done about it.
Sarma by Hladno Pivo
It's a kind of food, and it's really good, all I got to say, the song is basically just that
Nije Sve Tako Sivo by Hladno Pivo
A song that talks a bit about grief, and messed up minds of many, but also of the way out, mentions binge drinking, as that is a common way out here in Balkans, but also goes through many of those ways one would try to optimistically find good sides of something. Mainly good for the pain factor in it.
Pravo Ja by Hladno Pivo
It's title is "True me", and starts with a sort of intro, as to the todays often hype on finding true self and blah blah blah, but slowly changes to a completely different image of the theme, as it moves the True Me to more of, Another Me, as being two separate beings, or two people within the same mind, and then pulls onto the fear of surfacing many bad sides it could bring, or sides that the society doesn't really accept. Ending with a denial of meeting that true self.
Zimmer Frei by Hladno Pivo
Tells a story of a sort of Croatian dream, of tourism and stuff, but at the same shows how comically it's immpossible, and how much it is a dellusion. This sort of mentality has kept me from being able to do many things in this country many times.
Kiše Jesenje by Prljavo Kazalište
The medium level of global poverty in Croatia, and the constant economy crisis... Basically the title, when i first saw the song on the album, made me think of a completely different theme, and then it turns to "Through my empty pockets, winds blow, and into, autumn rains"
Crno-Bijeli Svijet by Prljavo Kazalište
"World of black and white", indirectly focuses on black and white thinking... In a very personal way.
Pristao sam bit ću sve što hoće by Bijelo Dugme
It's an interesting song, that has many different interpretations, but it basically talks about how one loses the enthusiasm in some ways, and hope for the future, and all the ways one can be mistaken and end up alone, losing even own persona. It's more of the musicians cry-out, but I more associate with other parts of the songs, directed more on hopelessness and lack of control.
