I went back on meds about 4 months ago first with Lexapro and then did a switchover to Zoloft. As far as I knew I thought the swap went smoothly. In the last 3 months I have experience 8 of the possible side effects from Zoloft. I the idiot did not think that it was med related till now. Although the increase in symptoms pushed me to the doctor. I actually thought and so did the Dr. that I have IBS. Now like the smarty-pants. I am I clicked that this is also possibly all because of meds. I’m waiting to hear back from the Dr. tomorrow and am interested in hi e-mail response to my questions?

Part of me wants to stop all meds now but that is not the right choice. This is not the first time that meds have reacted badly with me. It seems rather common that I have adverse side effects to medications. Has anyone else had major issues with an SSRI?

Thanks

Nighthawk i hope you get the answers you are looking for asap. Don't stop it until you get advice etc.

I had a bad time on zoloft my side effects happened after a dose increase, i felt dreadful i felt too tired to move but was really agitated at same time, i felt like i had the flu every part of my body hurt i don't remember the rest but i do know i went to doctor and got myself off it as i did not feel right on it. I am now on a different SSRI which time will continue to tell regarding side effects.

Spoke to my P and he wants me to cut the dose in half for 2 weeks and then halve it again for a week and then stop. I am a bit concerned about the increase in symptoms although if this resolves all my medical issues I am having at the moment it will be a big relief. I'll let you know how it goes.

I had an allergic reaction to Zolft, rash not being able to breathe etc and am very sensitive to medication. I don't like meds because of this but I do believe they do help to a extent. I went a long time refusing medication because I thought it would hinder my chances of getting back on my uni course. I think it's all about finding the medication that helps, even if that means trying a few.
