Find Some Beauty - Strawberry Moon Solstice Tonight Last Seen 1967

“By landing exactly on the solstice, this full moon doesn’t just rise as the sun sets but is opposite the sun in all other ways too,” explains Bob Berman of The Old Farmers Almanac. Because the sun is so high, the moon will be low, its light coming through thicker air, which is often humid at this time of year, and creating an amber-coloured moon. “This is the true Honey Moon,” says Berman.

But this magical moon is also notable this year for being the fourth full moon to fall between the March equinox and the June solstice. There are usually only three full moons in one season, between an equinox and a solstice.

the next summer solstice full moon won’t appear for 46 years. Hopefully peace and love really will break out in 2062.

In the USA the Strawberry Moon name is borrowed from the Algonquins. I am so excited that I posted it on my status! My DIL is making custard with Strawberry Topping and we are all going to look at the Moon from our separate locations. It is indeed a magical evening. I will think of you and many here as I gaze up. :hug:

Went outside and it is beautiful. took my shoes off and stood in the cool grass. Just looked for a long time. Will go out again in awhile...just beautiful !!!

One of these years all y'all will find me on a sailboat in the Caribbean listening to Pink Floyd as the moon rises. Longest day, longest night, total eclipse of the sun, something stellar.

Hopefully long before 2062! <grin> But I'll take that one, too ;) Just maybe not in a bikini.

I hope y'all seen a lot of the beautiful moon as through the clouds where I am, I ain't seen jack. :D

On another hand, pics exist, sharing exists, and I have vivid imagination, so it must have been beautiful.

It was so beautiful @Cashew... looked like you could eat it !!! I stood outside for a long time. mosquitoes eating me alive, barefoot, in the grass... just gazing. So grateful to see one more thing that I will not see again in my lifetime. Sorry you didn't get to see it.. It wasn't a 'howling' moon, it was a 'gratitude' moon...

I had a hard thing to do yesterday and left on the trip before sunrise. The full moon was amazing as it set. I also took a strawberry cake to the thing. I didn't stay long enough to eat any and no one actually knew that Solstice was one of the reasons for the strawberry cake, but I did and that made me feel good.

Last night was incredible! I went for a walk as the moon came up. There's a quiet little wooded path in my neighborhood. It's next to a stream and small pond. I watched the moon through the trees and meditated.

I went home and held a ritual circle. I put out for comfort and healing for anyone in need. Especially Orlando. Meditated some more. It was late then.

I had to take the candles I charged inside because of the wind. So I was up until 1:30 waiting for them to burn out.

While I waited I saged the house and also called for positive energies. Kaliyah and Brighid were both energetic so so I played with them some more. They get that way every time I do a ritual. It's funny. Little ones feel that energy.

In bed at 1:30. And Brighid woke me up at 5:45 to feed her. She was a "starving" kitty who just couldn't wait.
