Can you feel an isolation coming on? It's so confusing to understand...

Yes, I know when my symptoms will harm those I care for.
I know it and I withdraw because my PTSD isn't allowed to muck up their lives, by the way...those are my feelings about my symptoms...

When stress and tension are building up in my body, that is how I can usually tell that a period of isolation coming up, but I don't isolate so much anymore as I have conquored my fears through exposure to social engagements and other events that used to trigger anxieties.

Some times. Most of the time I realize it as it is starting.

Mostly. But it's a bit like a rising tide: sometimes it's coming in too fast or I'm already knee deep. Knowing it's coming is just the first part - stopping it in its tracks is a completely different battle, where the variables change. I don't always win. And getting out again can be just as much of a lottery.

Thank you all for the input. I'm really struggling with his isolation this time.

Months or years later? What does that mean? How does anyone isolate that long? I mean is it from one person, everyone, I don't understand isolation for months to years...
