I have this happen to me also, it seems to go in phases and when its been a while and I feel that starting I want to jump out of my skin.
Ive noticed that it helps me a lot to deal with it like physical pain.
If you dont put up any resistance and just relax as much as possible and let the pain just move through you in waves, like labor contractions or if youve sprained something or broke a bone , how did you deal with that mentally until you got help? theres a way of visualizing pain and allowing it to be a separate entity that comes from deep inside you, picture it like a stone in the ocean, and the waves are the painful feelings that you let go and let them keep rolling toward the shore after going back to the pain.
eventually the stone that held the source of the pain is washed to shore where it cant hurt as much, and not hidden inside.
I hope that helps, Im not a meditation mindful type person. I used to deal with pain by chainsmoking and rock climbing, the reason I know this works is because ive had serious injuries with no medical help, broken bones and deep wounds.
When it finally ocurred to me to use that method for emotional pain also it really worked.
