Ever Feel Like You Need To Slow Your Mind Down

Well...I had to literally tell myself to slow down. That alone nearly caused a panic attack. I'm guessing that it's hypervigilence causing the speeding mind and telling myself to slow down wasn't taken well. Just a guess.

There are other tools too... but those are the basic 5 and it is good to start practicing them (I was doing those activities as goals one at a time at first to create new habits - 26-28 days makes a new habit gal but persistent and diligent practice of those will help, k?)

Uh huh. Its the only way my brain knows how to work. My brain constantly grins, fast, and never stops.

Because its how my brain works, for everything, ive had to learn how to work with it, not try to stop it.

It makes a difference in what your brain grins about. Huge difference. Change the 'about' script and you change the entire outcome.

This is for me. Not sure about everyone else.

Also for me always, but there are differences.. is it racing anxious thoughts, or anger? Or like the last 2 days I've had a stupid song playing in the background non-stop on top of all the thoughts.

Paradoxically, the more thoughts I have the less I can make sense of anything. :(

I can only say, sleep, exercise/ movement- preferably more active, coffee, protein, lists with priorities, verbalizing what you're feeling, maybe meds? Mindfulness, but I think it has to be a different kind than the average.

Ps, if it's new for you get your thyroid checked.

Also, maybe deep breathing. If you think it's hypervigilance maybe journaling. Don't want to say cigarettes but it's the same principle as the caffeine.
