Has anyone read The Stand by Stephen King? It's the book club's choice for January. I downloaded the audio but it's 44 hours long and only ten days to the discussion. Not sure how triggering the book will be. The miniseries was pretty boring.

Probably wont read it.

I'm currently reading Portrait of a Lady by Henry James which is beautifully written, set in 1880's England it explores the troubled marriage of a free spirited American woman to an English gentlemen who hides behind a veneer of respectable behaviour.

and im struggling with Trauma & Recovery by Peter Levine. He adds 1+1 and comes up with 5!

I've read it. The unabridged version! Its long but I liked it. Not a SK fan but this was a good read
Its also about survival and human nature.

It started off the miniseries well but I found it got silly at the end. Is it better as a book?

I love Stephen King - shining, secret window, stand by me, storm of the century

@pixel can you explain this to me? I read levine a while ago, but something about his views, disturbed me a little. Just a tiny bit. I have difficulty when people add a twinkle of spirituality to things. But maybe, I am misinterpreting.
