Should I Tell This Part To The Police

Very briefly. My father was a pedophile and serial killer of homeless boys.

I've already written and sent an anecdotal story to the cold case investigators in the state in which the crimes occurred. I've heard nothing back from them.

In 2015 after I quit therapy, I had a vivid nightmare and waking dream about the FBI coming to my father's house. They questioned him and then me. By that time, I knew not to say a darn word to anyone as my father had broken my arm and another time locked me in the crab and fish hold on his fishing vessel. He did both of these things to shut me up because I said things to people. He wanted to make certain I didn't reveal anything to anyone. So I know that when the FBI questioned me alone, I didn't tell them anything even though I knew and had seen plenty. I was 10 years old.

Now I wonder if I should send another short anecdotal story to them about the FBI memory or just let this all go. My husband says just forget about it since the police's cold case division has never gotten back to me.

When I contacted the cold case division they had a huge back log of cases. It's been four years since I sent in my anecdotal story.

@Incongruous firstly I want to say - well, sorry you went through that doesn't cover it. I can only imagine the horror of your young years with a father like that.

All those boys deserve justice. i don't know if your father is still alive, but if so he needs to be locked away. ASAP!
I've heard other stories of people trying to inform the police and getting ignored. I don't understand it! Please keep try again!!

You should definitely tell them. I wonder if there is a way for you to contact the FBI as well? It might get things moving if you explain that you lied the first time you were questioned as a child -- and they won't hold it against you if you were a little kid then (and being abused). In any case, I don't see how it could hurt. They might still not get back to you, but at least you'd know you tried. And there may be parents and families of some of the victims out there who want closure.

You've called it a "short anecdotal story" - you know this is a really big, important story though, right? Try not to minimise what you've been through.

I'm another voice supporting you to tell them. And it doesn't need to be complex, or anecdotal. Just the facts.
"You questioned me about my father's involvement in the death of several homeless boys. At the time, I lied because I was a child and I was in fear for my life. I'm ready to tell you now..."

Whatever you choose to do, be gentle with yourself. As a victim, the only person you owe anything to now is yourself, and your future. Everything else is bonus.

If the FBI were involved once, that's where I would send it. Heck, even if they were never involved but just because homeless youth involves state crossing, I'd be inclined to send it to either the FBI or Marshals service.

When dealing with LEOs, BLUF (bottom line up front).

The FBI may not have been able to do anything with a short anecdotal anonymous story, and may not have taken it seriously.

But, those cold cases are still there waiting for the information that will solve them. Those boys and their loved ones are waiting for resolution.

I have 2 family members I lost to homicide, and they are both cold cases. They also were children, aged 3 & 5. Someone out there has the information to solve their cases, but hasn't come forward. It's devastating.

Cold cases can't move forward without new information. Share your facts with the investigators.

Obviously, my post created some confusion. My first anecdotal story was not anonymous. Though my first contact with the FBI was anonymous as a 10-year-old child (only because I'm certain my father told them a different name for me) where I was prevented from telling anything about my father.

Three to four years ago, I contacted The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children through their online site. They connected with the FBI because the local police ignored me. In turn the FBI found the proper authorities in the state where it occurred, which turned out to be the state police's cold case division. At that time I hadn't remembered a specific memory about the FBI. That memory came to me in 2015.

The state police requested I write an anecdotal story for them. I wrote a detailed story which about three to four pages long which contained a picture of the type of vehicle he used in his crimes. It included my name, address, phone number, etc. At that time I had no idea about my father's name because of his paranoia about being discovered. I'm still not certain of his name. I only remember calling him Daddy and some double name he used to confuse me. Though that could have been his real name so I gave the police that name. I even had details about his eye color because I have a hereditary, congenital eye color which is unusual. Also details about possible allergies to foods because I inherited those too. They are unusual and only found in certain areas in Europe which should've given the police an idea about his nationality.

An aside to this and my eye color. On my birth certificate it states the incorrect eye color. That's one way I figured out that my mother had an affair. No one in my family has my eye color. I know genetics is strange and some anomalies occur yet not with this particular eye color. Then years later a doctor thought I had this autoimmune disorder. All of my brothers have it and my stepdad (didn't know then he was my stepdad) so the doctor tested me for it. Nothing. No genetic marker. I think the doctor wanted to say that's impossible and possibly ask me if I was adopted or if I had a different father. He just looked at me in the oddest way. It wasn't appropriate for him to suggest adoption/different father though. Four years later I accepted that I had a different father.

Anyway... the current anecdotal story is a short one because I'm only revealing my memory of the FBI coming to my father's home when I was 10 years old and questioning him and me.

I distinctly heard the FBI agent asking my father questions about missing children in the area. My father was a smart man and knew that they couldn't search his property and then use that as evidence against him. He told the agent to go check out his carriage house. The agent declined the offer yet cocked his head toward me. I was at a window listening to everything. A short time later the agent sat on my bed with me and asked me questions. The guy was gentle and could most likely tell something was going on with me.
