Never Give Up On Dreams

They say the mind thinks in pictures so I decided to put all goals and dreams together to see if it really worked.

A few years ago now I got a huge piece of coloured cardboard (I chose gold) and stuck pictures on it of all the things I was wanting in life (big and little)...including the words to a song I wanted playing when I walked down the aisle as I wanted to get married again. I firstly put it on my wardrobe door so I saw it every day and then in the office as I was spending so much time in there. A couple of times I looked at it and thought wow...I have that now and began to tick the things off that I had achieved or gained. I found this good for my self esteem too.

Shortly I will tick off the last thing which was on my list...the wedding song. :occasion:

What I also realised through this process was that we may not achieve exactly what we set out to do but it sometimes we achieve something very similar as views and tastes change along our journey.

It's now time for me to set new goals and dreams as it was those things which kept me going when I felt down. When I was feeling down I would go and look at my dream board and see all the ticks and think, ok maybe now is not the time, but I will eventually get there like I did with the other things.

Never give up on your dreams..............

Nicolette,

That is awesome encouragement. Thanks for sharing! A year a go, I started a dream book ... it went missing - or someone took it - I have my suspicions .... anyway, I think it is time to start another!

Thinking of you with your wedding song ... I know it is going to be a fabulous day - don't stress!

:thumbs-up That is awesome yeah. My mum has aways done this, and its always worked for her.
Great advice. Think I shall do one myself.

Have a great week this week....:occasion:

I also started a dream collage in 2006, by 2007 I owned my own house at the age of 23. I couldn't have imagined this the year prior, but I managed to pull it off.

I also wanted to run an animal sanctuary, I realised by the time I was 24, I was living my dream but in a different form to what I had imagined.

My house had become a home for my many pets, a sanctuary of animals. I thought that next time I would be more specific and write I would like to own an animal rescue shelter.

Although I realise now after losing my house this year from getting into debt whilst trying to setup a business, all I really wanted was my own home in the country with some stables and to live with the love of my life.

I have found my soulmate so I'm very lucky in that respect too. This was something I put on my list also.

Thank You, I needed this reminder that I even have dreams/wants/desires.

Since they are few, I am will make screen saver of my hearts' desire. Then I am sure to be reminded that all things are possible with patience

I've done this before, but forgot about how wonderful this can be. I think I'll start a new one too!

Never give up on your dreams..............

I concur 100%.

And, to make a dream come true we've got to first have a dream and want that dream beyond all reason.

So if anyone's dreams are in the process of being lost or have been been lost; Perhaps even misplaced, ...Well how about before sleep tonight we put our thoughts on at least one dream; Our dream; A dream. Something perhaps reflective of our growing natures.

Also Nicolette, hope you're, or have set your newest goals and dreams, maybe even again with pictures and words and into a collage. Whether, feeling down or not such a project or even a Master Dream List is certainly a constructive tool, and can be quite successful, during the journey of achieving the unimaginable, and sometimes against enormous odds.

Heck' all we'd have to do is sacrifice some of our time spent viewing, listening to, 'gloom & doom' type feeling and any visualizations of some of the most gruesome and awful human sufferings and tragedies, ...for a time and however brief or long, and replace all that freed up time and energy with the discovery of, visualization of, and/or steps toward the enormous value of some very important dreams, ....some of which are quite likely, just a'whirling around in our universe.

Never give up on your dreams..............

THX Nicolette.

Thanks for this Nic, you've really found some good solid pathways that can pay off. I feel like I'm finally in a place where I can start this process anew... here's looking forward to the future, and all it will bring for us if only we dare ourselves to dream...

I did this as a teenager and it got lost in the many moves. I forgot all about it. Thank you so much for the reminder. I am at a perfect place in my life right now to do another one of these and start working on reaching all those long ago dreams and add my new ones! What a wonderful thing to do for this new year, which has brought already so many of my dreams that I have wanted and been praying and working towards the last year and a half. Thanks for reminding me that I can still dream and that it is up to me to make these dreams and goals come true!

What a fantastic idea. It fits in perfectly with looking after myself a bit more. I have achieved one dream last year in moving halfway across the country to have my own place. But there's so much more I want to do....

It's now time for me to set new goals and dreams as it was those things which kept me going when I felt down.
Me too.

I Need this Reminder in a very big way tonight, and thanks for your thread.

Now I must do something with it.

Just one of my goals and dreams is to be able to again and simultaneously both see and focus upon the words from books and then read. I use to really enjoy the freedom to be able to read and retain so very much. Then things went wrong and I lost the pleasures, peace and friend-like-ship I once found in reading books.

Now an important dream of mine is to be able to read many a book again and do so also with no shame, feelings of inferiority and lies attached.

I've been fortunate as of late to be able to have found a wonderful resource that will allow me to have nearly any book of interest mailed to my home in exchange for shipping expense and another book of mine which I finished reading; Essentially a swap. Things are in motion and I hope to be reading as much and more once again and monthly begin exercising and living this dream of mine.

Also, tonight I'm uncertain as to my correct memory of the rules when it comes to sharing/posting an outside resource/web-site address. So I'm not going to make an error here, rather just toss out that if any avid readers are interested in the resource which I've mentioned, and you do not find it through a web search then feel free to PM me and I'll share the site address with you.

Again, back to this dream, though it sounds small, it's rather significant and accomplished to me when I begin achieving avid reading of books once again.

And, it's now time for me as well to determine and set my other new goals and dreams!

Hope
