Well I am 29 I joined the Army in 2000 when I was 17 served till 2009.
3 tours and several injuries.
Broken Back, two broken ankles, TBI, lungs are fried and PTSD.
Ptsd wasnt a big issue for me when I was in. Now that I am out. Each day is worse and worse.
The VA has me at 70% just for ptsd so I am sure you can see its not very good.
I only receive 2 15min sessions a year for ptsd. I am currently working on getting SSD so I can get to a real doctor since the VA sucks in my state.
I figured I would stop just skimming over this website And join. Maybe make some friends to help me through everything!
Thanks guys

Welcome mate. Im a Brit so dont know your system well but there are plenty on from the States. IMHO 2x15 mins per year is a joke at best. Takes my shrink more than 15 mins for the prescription to get written.
There is plenty of help on here just ask away.

Hey brother the official VA appts are usually too far apart for most of us to do any good. Find yourself a vet center, they offer free counseling to us vets and and can usually get to you on a weekly basis.

Welcome mate. It's good to see that you have acknowledged that you have PTSD, it's usually the hardest step for a lot. They just don't want to believe that they used to be able to handle pressure that no normal person could, yet now just a minor domestic issue looks like the end of the world.

From being on here for several years I have come to the conclusion that now matter where you are in the world, you have to really take psychological matters into your own hands, rather than leaving it up to the VA.

A bit of advice mate, check out this book, I would find it hard to believe that it could not help you. It deals with Combat Stress, PTSD and mTBI.
